Today, I gave a presentation entitled 'Bringing Digital Curation to Architects to promote innovation in the Construction sector',at the Glasgow Science Festival event on the Digital Innovations. It was a great opportunity to hear from business professionals and academics about Digital Innovations and Knowledge Exchange experiences. Thanks to the fantastic Fraser Rowan, the Business Development Manager of the College of Arts, I was pleased to discover the patent convergence in business models and contents' units identification in the innovative use of digital technologies.

In particular, I was surprised to hear that in the music industry are rising initiatives supporting the commercial reuse of loops for the production of new tracks - the project presented today is called 'Stem Cloud'. This business model is lagging behind in both the Design and Construction sectors despite many novel initiatives are pursuing the same aim of selling reusable contents units in these industries, such as for example 'bimobject' and 'modlar'.

Which other opportunities for professional development of designers could arise from Digital Innovations? Which competences shall support Digital Innovation in Architecture?
